New Statement of Redaction Procedure for 18 U.S.C. § 3509(d) Cases December 5, 2019 When filing a Statement of Redaction to comply with the Order re: Notice and Transcript Procedures for Criminal Cases Concerning a Child Under 18 U.S.C. § 3509(d) , parties may now file the Statement of Redaction under seal. A new form, titled Statement of Redaction Filed Under Seal to Comply with 18 U.S.C. § 3509(d) , has been created to use for this purpose. Please review the Sealed Criminal User's Manual for directions on how to file the new Statement of Redaction form under seal in 18 U.S.C. § 3509(d) cases. General Order: Revised Transcript Procedures to Provide Increased Privacy Protections October 11, 2019 The Court has issued a general order regarding revised transcript procedures to provide increased privacy protections. The order requires the court reporter to file the original unredacted transcript under temporary seal to determine if redactions are required. When an original unredacted transcript is filed, each party must review it to determine if the transcript must be redacted.
